Flex
A beam of light cuts through the darkness, an impressively tall structure of plastic and metal walks forward, robotic in movement and alien in design. Scanning its surroundings, the beam illuminates a heaped pile of entwined limbs. A spark of life triggers movement, jerky, erratic and probing. Two beings emerge from the pile, a male and female robot. Unsteady at first, the pair start to explore their physical dexterity and test each others’ strength and balance in an elaborate series of manoeuvres. A dance of supreme acrobatic skill ensues and is performed to a haunting and atmospheric soundtrack, lit by the animated lighting tower. Flex is a new acrobatic piece by Heir of Insanity and Mark Tate, combining elaborate costumes and creative lighting, whilst maintaining their trade mark innovative style. Prepare to be stunned.
Flume
Okay, so let's face it... Flume is a nutter! Problem is, he thinks he is pretty normal. Originally from the planet Flummery, he crash landed in Australia, developing a distinctive Aussie twang. All this fella really wants is to find a nice 'Sheila' to settle down with. So he is definitely on the hunt!
Shadow
Sharp sleek fast and very black. Shadow is great at disappearing into the darkest corners. He has an almost robotic movement, and can really travel. He loves to stalk, and if you let him get close enough, he might just steal a kiss.
Indiana Smith
The not quite so great hunter! This guy is terrified of his own shadow. And just a little nervous of loud noises. He is terribly British with a rather large stiff upper lip. Old Chap.
The Devil
A big bad horny beast. Running around swinging and dancing with fire. As walkabout, hanging around, or scaring people on his stilts.
Dave
From another planet, completely off the wall and mad as a hatter. His spider like moments and contorted faces will amuse you. He is quite a scary looking fellow but friendly beyond words.
Hai
An elegant and quite beautiful baby alien. He is curious and sweet with a raucous laughed a very high pitched voice.
The L.E.D’s
Mirra Bella is a walking, dancing human mirror ball, she is covered in thousands of mirrored tiles and quite literally glows. She also comes with her own light source, namely Black Beam and High Beam. Black Beam is utterly black and has two powerful UV lights on his head, which makes anything white or Ultra Violet come to life. High Beam has an incredibly strong light on his head as well as a strobe on his chest and he is made from light reflective material and is quite capable of lighting up an entire room.
Thawed
Frozanne the mistress of the arctic and her ice lion, Frostbite, is Lord Frostbottom. These costumes have to be seen to be believed, they are literally covered in hundreds of crystals that catch the light from every angle and the level of detail in make-up and characterization is unsurpassed.
The Satyrs
Austere, dignified and very regal, The Satyrs are half human, half goat characters. Their bodies are painted gold and they have manes of long white hair, and thick, white fur covered haunches. These furtive characters are both cheeky and flirtatious, and with feathers at the ready, they will tickle, cajole and tempt passers by. On the power skip stilts, these three dynamic performers can also leap over each other, pirouette and jump up to six feet in height. You will never have seen anything of their like before! Not to be mythed!
Vaindeers
Zhoozhi, Fru Fru and Chi Chi, are the Vaindeers! They are on the bouncy stilts, covered in gorgeous champange coloured fur, bells on the hoofs for that authentic jingling Christmas sound and lovely fluffy red noses. Not so much concerned with the Christmas spirit, but more as to whether their hair looks ok... and they couldn't possibly pull a sleigh, they might chip a hoof, and heaven forbid a camera should appear, who would be in front?
