Luisa Calvo’s Wicked Caricatures

With a Cambridge art school background, Luisa Calvo is one of the UK's leading caricaturist entertainers. Working extensively throughout Europe and the UK since 1985, Luisa has shown her talent at all manner of private and public functions, producing 12 - 15 caricatures per hour. During her European travels, she made a four month daily TV appearance, in which she sketched celebrities while they were being interviewed, including HRH Prince Phillip of Spain.

The BBC were quick to spot Luisa's ability, and commisioned her work for various productions including 'Jonathan Creek', 'One foot in the grave' and 'Beasts'. She has also appeared in front of the BBC cameras when interviewed about her work, and she produced the magnificent mural for the National Television Awards at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Her ever present smile and wicked sense of humour make it easy for her to mingle effortlessly and she encourages your guests to continue chatting, as it all adds a spark of "life" to the caricatures that help to capture the essence of each individual character.
Wedding receptions are a particular favourite with Luisa and she was proud to be chosen by Des O’Connor to draw caricatures at his wedding at Highclere Castle. Celebrity guests Cilla Black, Joe Pasquale, Melanie Sykes and Bradley Walsh were all delighted to be immortalised whilst chatting and sipping champagne!

Apart from the very popular fast 5 minute black & white pen & ink caricatures, Luisa also specialises in COLOUR DIGITAL CARICATURES. A truly unique presentation, digital caricatures will dazzle your guests and entertain the masses. The drawings are rendered of your guests using a pressure sensitive tablet and displayed on a Plasma screen, so that they can be seen as they are being drawn, even from across the room. Offering a choice of pre-drawn original backgrounds, the caricatures can also be customized beforehand with your logos. Mottos or theme. All drawings are beautifully printed to take away as they are drawn and emailed with a message from your company after the event.

Walkabout digital caricatures are becoming increasingly popular– definite novelty factor! Choose from: Fast black and white digital (approx 5 - 6 minutes + emailing).  Full colour digital (7 - 8 minutes + emailing).  Luisa will mingle with your guests at drinks receptions and dinners. The caricatures are emailed to the guests on the spot so that they can receive them immediately on their mobile phones and upload them straight away to use as Facebook profiles / Twitter avatars if they so wish!
