Finnish Ilona Jäntti studied circus arts at Cirkus Piloterna in Sweden, where she specialised in aerial skills. She has also obtained a Masters degree in Choreography at Laban Centre, London, in 2008.
She was awarded a six-month Artist Grant for 2010 by the Finnish Government.
Ilona has collaborated with a diverse range of circus, dance and theatre companies and venues including Shakespeare’s Globe, Royal Opera House, The Place and Darwin Centre at National History Museum in the UK; Circo Aereo, Flow Productions and Dance Theatre Hurjaruuth in Finland, Teatro Nuovo in Italy, Varietespektakel in Germany and Cirkör Event in Sweden.
Ilona has received funding from the Arts Council of Finland in order to create new work on a number of occasions.
She is interested in finding new ways of devising circus and dance performances in collaboration with artists from other art forms.
